The strategy phase begins with searching for and identifying opportunities, whether technology-based or market-based. This includes identifying customer types as well as their particular needs and challenges. This is followed by a formal period where ideas for meeting those needs through features and functions are conceived and screened to eliminate unsound concepts. Finally, these features are synthesized into a concrete product and defined within a formal product specifications document.

Through market analysis, we develop insight for designing a product that will appropriately target the needs and opportunities in the marketplace.
User Personas Development
To gain greater insight into the specific needs of particular market segments, we develop user personas. This standard and powerful tool of user-centered design allows us to understand, effectively communicate, and design for the demands and challanges of your target users.
Use Case Development and Feature Requirements
Once we understand users needs, we specify discrete use cases that they will be able to perform and product features that will allow then to carry out those tasks. This is a critical milestone that clearly lays out the individual elements that the design will need to address.
Gap Analysis
When we know what users need and want, we compare that against what your existing or proposed product offers to see where there is misalignment or missed opportunities.
Product Requirements Documentation
In part or as a whole, all of the above elements of this phase lead to a broader product requirements specification. We can unite all of the elements of the product strategy into an industry standard Product Requirements Document (PRD) that can serve as the cornerstone of your product development process.
