Comment on Google to Release a New Browser: Chrome by chi - Google Chrome http://www.Montparnas.com/articles/googles-to-release-a-new-browser-chrome/#comment-27248 chi - Google Chrome Fri, 26 Sep 2008 16:43:52 +0000 http://www.Montparnas.com/articles/googles-to-release-a-new-browser-chrome/#comment-27248 I think the design of chrome is innovative. It's sleek and ads to the user experience. I found IE much better designed than FF though it attracts viruses. I think Chrome steals a bit of the usability away from IE. This post is being made with Firefox by the way. I think the design of chrome is innovative. It’s sleek and ads to the user experience. Comment on Should Facebook Fully Launch Its New User Experience Design? by Sue http://www.Montparnas.com/articles/should-facebook-fully-launch-its-new-user-experience-design/#comment-27168 Sue Wed, 17 Sep 2008 22:13:16 +0000 http://www.Montparnas.com/articles/should-facebook-fully-launch-its-new-user-experience-design/#comment-27168 I think Facebook is doing the right thing. The 40% may come around. They should probably keep incorporating changes to the new design based on feedback that they're getting. If they do this before they fully launch the new version it may settle some of the disgruntled. Like you said, you can't please everyone.. I personally like what they've done :) I think Facebook is doing the right thing. The 40% may come around. Comment on Examples and Trends of Headers and Navigation by Sergio Paluch http://www.Montparnas.com/articles/examples-and-trends-of-headers-and-navigation/#comment-26905 Sergio Paluch Thu, 21 Aug 2008 17:26:31 +0000 http://www.Montparnas.com/articles/examples-and-trends-of-headers-and-navigation/#comment-26905 Thanks for your comment TC. I wanted to capture enough to give readers a sense of latest trends in a centralized spot without over-doing it. In the near future, we will be looking at ways that major sites that have a lot of content categories, like shopping sites, deal with navigation. Thanks for your comment TC. I think you make a good point that touch technology is not ineffectual or have its place. An inversion approach that looks at what a proposed design cannot do rather than a focus on what it can will yeild surprises. Thanks for the link. Dave - Lifekludger Hi. Comment on What Is User Experience Design by uxdesign.com http://www.Montparnas.com/articles/what-is-user-experience-design/#comment-26400 uxdesign.com Mon, 02 Jun 2008 04:44:01 +0000 http://www.Montparnas.com/articles/what-is-user-experience-design/#comment-26400 Great, thorough writeup. Outstanding, actually. The only thing I may add is Don Norman's intended interpretation (if we grant him his claim to its invention, and why not?); "I invented the term because I thought human interface and usability were too narrow. I wanted to cover all aspects of the person’s experience with the system including industrial design graphics, the interface, the physical interaction and the manual." Also, there is the historical aspect, which is seldom discussed: why web designers glommed on to the term and, though not originally intended to be exclusively digital, no other profession seems interested in it, despite some hybrid (product/industrial + digital/interaction design) service companies applying it to design of either digital or analog products: http://uxdesign.com/about-user-experience-design/article/what-is-ux/4 Great, thorough writeup.
